Why can I not feel the baby move regularly?!?!?

I am 25 weeks pregnent, I am overweight, (NO comments from the penut gallary) and I do not feel the baby move very regularly? On a daily basis I try to recount any movement and most of the time I can not, I havwe been having some very serious cramping in my lower left side and the doc has said it is related to my bowels not the baby! I have voice my concern that I do not feel the baby all the time and the doc has said nothing to comfort me. Has anyone been in my shoes????

Oh yeah this is my first, and I go to all my apts, doc says that I am doing fine. I am 24 years old and I am looking for some serious advise because I a really concerned about this.

Thank you in advance for all those who answered with advise.

Why can I not feel the baby move regularly?!?!?
It has nothing to do with your weight.

It most likely has to do with the size of the baby and the amount of fluid that the baby floats around in. I first felt a little kick at 21 weeks. It got a little more around 24, but by 28-30 weeks I could definitely feel the kicks.

Don't worry. The baby is moving like crazy...it is just buffered by lots of liquid.
Reply:If the baby moves at least once a day, usually after meals, then you are probably fine!

Good luck to you!
Reply:If you have extra weight on you, it's possible that it's more difficult to feel the baby move. I know doctors have a more difficult time hearing the baby's heartbeat when a woman is significantly overweight. I would consult your doctor to see how he/she feels about this.
Reply:I love BabyCenter and here's a link to part of their site that talks about feeling the baby move. Hope it helps!
Reply:Well at first when baby moves you really don't feel it to much because the movements are light and if your doing something else you may not notice it. Also being overweight can prevent you from feeling your baby move, at least until later in the pregnancy.

And every baby is different. But if you are having any sign of cramping i would bring this up to your doctor.

Try laying down and either drink some Orange juice, or some other sugary drink or sweet and lay still, you should begin to feel something..but at 25 weeks it is still very early and baby is still so tiny that it probably isn't anything to worry about.
