How do you remove odor from stinky leather shoes?

I have several pairs of "leather upper" shoes that smell horrible. They are summer shoes, so I obviously don't wear socks with them. I have tried odor eaters spray, but I hate chemicals on my feet, and then my shoes smell like odor eaters ... I have tried cleaning them daily with baby wipes - which are gentle on skin. Any ideas?

How do you remove odor from stinky leather shoes?
Here are some different ways to help combat the foot odour problem.

Spray the inside of your shoes with febreeze.

Dust the inside of your shoes and your feet with talcum powder or special anti bacterial powder available at the drugstore.

Don't wear the same shoes two days in a row. Give them time to dry and air out completely between wearings.

When airing out your shoes between wearings sprinkle them inside with baking soda or kitty litter to absorb the smell.

Buy antibacterial towelettes which are available at drug stores and wipe your feet well before putting on your shoes.

Try placing a couple of pieces of barbecue charcoal wrapped inside a paper towel in your shoes when airing out to absorb the odour.

Spray your feet with anti perspirant or deodorant.

Buy insoles made for this problem at your drug store.

If all else fails ask your physician about medicine that contains a 20% solution of aluminium chloride hydrate which is supposed to help combat the perspiration problem. http://www.epodiatry.com/smelly-foot.htm

Reply:Place BOUNCE sheets, antisat for dryers, in them overnight.

It works.
Reply:Try baking soda. I don't know why it works, but it does.

Baby powder works well also.
Reply:Take some left over coffee grind from your coffemaker.

Find an old sock to fill it with one day old coffee grind and then place it inside your shoe.
Reply:baking Soda works- and also wash your shoes with vinegar -take a damp cloth and put vinegar on it- my daughter has stinky feet- (and her shoes are bad) you can also try gold bond- for foot odor or absorbine junior. which helps your feet stop sweating...
