What color will my baby be if I'm light skin and my baby daddy is dark skin??

I know only God can decide that but I wanted to see if anyone who have children thats in the same shoes I'm in. The most important this is that my baby is healthy but it won't hurt to know the color lol.

What color will my baby be if I'm light skin and my baby daddy is dark skin??
I beleive that dark skin over powers light skin whether its the dad or mom who has the darkness. I;ve got mexican in me and my babies father has blonde hair blue eyes. Well my very adorable little boy who was just born looks a lot more like me dark hair! my skin isnt dark really but he definatly got the "darker genes"
Reply:Darker features is dominant genetically. But, that doesn't necessarily mean that your baby will be as dark as his father.

One of my brothers has a little girl that is half-black-half-white. Her mother is VERY dark skinned, and my brother, I guess you could say is a typical "white boy". His daughter's skin is a nice medium between the two skin tones.

My brother-in-law has a son that's half-Mexican-half-white, but that little boy looks 100% Mexican (he doesn't have any "white" features--black hair, nearly black eyes, incredibly dark skin, etc).
Reply:I am blond , blue eyes and fair skin. My sons father is half german and half african. He has dark skin and the typical african american hair. My son was born with blonde hair and blue eyes. I read up on this and for some reason blue eyes and blonde hair is a dominant gene.I thought it was the other way around. Well it is a crap shoot, but does it really matter?
Reply:Anywhere between yours and the fathers, obviously. You may as well ask us how much it will weigh, or when it will speak it's first word. How are we meant to know?
Reply:I am really light skinned and my husband is hispanic and has dark brown skin. Our first our daughter, came out just as dark as he is when she was born, now that she is 5 years old she has lightened up a lot, but she is still tanned skinned with black hair and dark brown eyes.

Our second out son, came out light brown with black hair and dark brown eyes. He is now almost 2 years old and has lighter skin then our daughter and his hair is a light brown, some of the roots are turning blonde like his mommies natural hair color and he has light brown eyes.

So it can differ from child to child.
Reply:I am fair skin and red headed my husband is American Indian so he is dark complected and dark hair. Our son is medium complected and dark hair.
Reply:There's really no way to tell.

I have friends where the mother is Swedish and the father dark-skinned African-American, and the baby is a delicious mocha coffee color with blond curly hair. Gorgeous!
Reply:theres no way to know for sure but my friend is white and her babies daddy is kinda dark. their baby has beautiful light skin and really nice curly hair, light brown color.
Reply:Usually the male skin color dominates in determining the baby's color. So chances are, the child will be not in the middle range between you two, but darker, more towards what daddy looks like. By the way I LOVE darker babies, they are the cutest!!! I guarantee you will have a gorgeous baby!!! Congrats and good luck!
Reply:it should come out a slight okra color. If you can have a few babies that have different daddies then you can get quite a range of colors going.
Reply:Who knows your baby could be really dark like the daddy or kinda tan.
Reply:its not something that u can predict. i am blonde/fair my ex was middle eastern dark with black hair my kids are all like peas in a pod in between light brown eyes and medium brown hair. my daughter (who is therefore half arab) and has olive skin and brown hair is married to someone with blonde/blue. she has two boys, the first is fair and exact image of dad, the second is like her dark, shes expecting a third so will be interesting to see. also my other daughter is with someone with fair/green and her baby has strawberry blonde/green so exciting for u to see how your baby turns out. my ex is with a north african woman who is not very dark but their baby is very dark. genetics are interesting, good luck
Reply:It can be any way. Are there any other children to either one of you? If his children are really dark, the baby might take after him. If his mother had light skin and his father dark, it might be light. It will just be a guessing game.
Reply:There are about thirteen different genes controlling skin color so it is virtually impossible to tell. You may carry different versions of any or all of these genes that are not active in you but can be the active form in your child.
Reply:I would say the baby will probably be darked skin or somewhere in between .You also have to look at the race the father for features such as hair, eyes, nose, etc. Also, I saw a program that said a lot of black babies appear light skinned at first %26amp; then turn dark.
Reply:its hard to tell. My mom is light skinned and my dad is dark skinned and I came out light skinned like my mom.

Most times the baby will be in between the two.
Reply:the baby can come out either dark or light. My mom is light skinned and my dad is dark skinned and they had 4 kids - 3 boys and me and all my brothers are dark skinned and have dark hair and I came out light skinned with blonde hair! lol
Reply:It could really go either way... but I'm going to guess brown skin.
