11 months old and shoes?

whenever i try putting shoes on my 11 month old baby girl, she curls up her toes really tight therefore making it impossible to get them on her feet without hurting her; what would be the best way to get her to stop doing this and start wearing shoes? HELP PLEASE!!!!

11 months old and shoes?
First off, is she walking yet?

The best way for a child to learn to walk is without shoes. And without socks if you can allow it. It helps strengthen and develop all the muscles and tendons in her foot.

If she%26#039;s walking and you want to take her outside the house, then you will have to put shoes on her, or carry her until she%26#039;s ready to wear them. I wouldn%26#039;t force them on her if she really doesn%26#039;t like it. Take her to a footwear store and get her measured for a good sneaker. Like a brand name, I know this will hurt the pocket book, but at least it will be a comfy shoe for her first ones. I did this with my son, then I just bought the 5 and 8 dollar sneaks at Walmart ever since.

Good luck, and dont%26#039; force it if she%26#039;s not showing signs of readiness.
Reply:don%26#039;t put anyone,my Friends twins didn%26#039;t have shoes until, she walked they are not necessary until them just use thick socks and blankets let her feet develop.
Reply:She shouldn%26#039;t be wearing shoes until she has been walking confidently for a few months at least.

If she has been walking for a long time, then are they the right sized shoes...are they too hard on her feet?

Perhaps she just likes being a barefoot princess?
Reply:Try open toed sandals, maybe she doesn%26#039;t like to have her toes covered, the sandal will allow for her to have plenty of room.

Hope this helps.
Reply:Unless your little girl is walking and walking well you shouldn%26#039;t be putting shoes on her feet. Maybe the shoes hurt her or are to tight. Shoes for children of this age should be professionally fitted. We all need our feet for a very long time so we must keep them from being damaged.
