Should I buy my 2 almost 3 month old baby sandals? There are some really cute ones at JCPenney, but I've heard~

I%26#039;ve heard not to buy a baby any shoes when they%26#039;re less than 1 year old. So what is your advice for a new mommy on shoes and sandals?

You%26#039;re not %26quot;supposed%26quot; to, but when we would go out to visit friend or family, I would always put shoes on my baby. They only wore them for a couple of hours anyway.
Reply:Shoes are for protection. They will do his feet no good and will hinder him once he starts learnign to walk. They wont really hurt him either as long as they are just for show and when hes actually movign around hes bare footed. My 12 1/2 month old is just now starting to wear shoes as he is going outside more and has been walkign for several months so it is well established.
Reply:My daughter is six months old and she has over a dozen pairs of shoes already! (Just like Mommy) There%26#039;s absolutely nothing wrong with a baby wearing shoes. I would just say be sure that she is wearing soft-soled shoes so that her feet will grow correctly, but otherwise go for it. My daughter only wears them when we go out. At home, she%26#039;s just got socks or bare feet.
Reply:Its useless. Put the money in college savings instead.
Reply:thats not true my baby wears shoes evry few days and now that summer is near she wears sandals. of course not every day b/c that will not leet her stretch her toes but once in a while is okay if that were tru many kids would not be able to walk right and they would prohibit baby shoes
Reply:go for it I think they look cute on babies
Reply:You can buy whatever you want for your baby. Because the baby isn%26#039;t walking yet, so what ! If you really like them go ahead. If this is the baby%26#039;s first pair of shoes, make sure you save them among the baby%26#039;s mementos. It%26#039;s always cute to see how big their feet get as adults !
Reply:I put shoes on my children when they started to pull themselves up to a standing position.
Reply:I have never heard that before - I bought my children and grandchildren shoes before that age and they are fine - but to be sure check with your pediatrician!@~
Reply:I bought my girls shoes as babies. It%26#039;s not like they are walking in them or anything. I say keep it cheap and only wear them when going out, so they can still learn to discover the toes, feet, etc...while at home. Congrats on the new baby!
Reply:If it%26#039;s for a short period of time (like taking a portrait) it is OK, but if you keep them on too long and too often they could restrict the growth and movement of their feet. There are those really soft shoes (Robeez, etc.) that are OK, but they are certainly not necessary. (This is what our pediatrician said anyway.)

Of course, if really want to, there is no big harm.
Reply:You can use shoes for your baby, so if you like em, buy em!
Reply:Where did you hear that???? Girl go buy your baby some shoes and sandals!!!!!! :)
Reply:I%26#039;ve never heard that, but even if I had I would still buy shoes. My kids were born in the winter time and they all wore shoes. Not one of them has any problems.

Reply:i bougth my 3 months old daugther sandal before but we end up not using it coz she%26#039;ll squirm when i put the sandals on her so we end up using socks/ booties until she started to walk.
Reply:My sons first shoes were bought when he was 2 months. I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s wise to have the infant put weight on his/her legs, in or out of shoes. But they%26#039;re okay, as long as the fit is good. You know they fit/have extra room if the width of your thumb can rest on the shoe between her toes and the top without squeezing.
Reply:shoes are basically for %26quot;decoration%26quot; at that age, so if you want her to look cute then buy them.
Reply:She won%26#039;t be walking in them. If they look cute and make you happy buy them, your baby won%26#039;t care to much either way.
