What is a good shoe to buy a baby who is learning to walk?
bobux, hands down. when a child is learning to walk, they need thin shoes that are flexible to help them learn to balance. bobux are made in the UK and are wonderful, my son adores them. they stay on, have no laces, and very thin while still providing protection, and are made with deerskin dyed with vegetable dyes only. (ever see a baby sucking on his feet? imagine what goes into his system when hes sucking on baby nikes put together with synthetic glues and harsh chemical dyes.)
Reply:Stride Rite shoes are good and nowadays, doctors are recommending a good durable sneaker. My doctor recommened Nike Air. I like Stride Rite - but they can be hot on the baby%26#039;s feet in the summer. I think the best suggestion is to get the baby something sturdy and supportive - but make sure they%26#039;re not all hot and uncomfortable - just cause everyone else did it doesnt mean you have to.
Reply:those white or black boot looking shoes with the hard bottom. Those help with keeping the babies feet flat and help promote prosture.
Reply:doesnt matter b/c they only are mainly on their tippytoes anyways and a doctor will tell you the same.
Reply:Babies best learn to walk when they are barefoot! Having stiff shoes on their feet impedes the natural movement of the foot. Most grown ups are more comfortable barefooted, so of course babies are too! However, babies do need shoes when they are outside and such. There has been a great deal of research showing that soft-soled shoes are best for little ones learning to walk, as they do not confine the natural movement of the foot. Some brands you might want to look at are Preshoolians, Cutebabyshoes, or Wiggees. Robeez are available at many boutiques and they are nice too.

Reply:I have been through alot with this question. I was worried that my kids would be bow legged. Alll the pros have told me NOT to put shoes on kids who are learning to walk. It seemed to work just fine.
Reply:Stride Rite. They are sooo comfortable and they help their balance which is a big plus for when they are begining to walk. They can be expensive though.

Reply:Stride rights i think. My cousin and I were talking about her son walking and i think thats what she said he wore. Hes 13 months and walks great.
Reply:The best shoe to buy a baby that is barely learning to walk woulb be in my opinion any high top shoe thats also like for example, booties etc. I find that since ther high top they help them keep their balance. I have 2 girls and those types of shoes helped them out alot.

Buy their %26quot;walking shoe%26quot;. While it isn%26#039;t the cutest shoe on the market, it is very comfortable for the baby and specifically designed for the newly walking foot.

Reply:My older son has very wide feet, and we found that the New Balance tennis shoes worked great for him. They have good support, and the soles are flexible enough for him to move comfortably.
Reply:First of all, don%26#039;t buy a used pair of walking shoes. I did this and they were worn out on one side which isn%26#039;t good for learning how to walk.





I keep hearing about %26quot;Stride Right%26quot; shoes. Then again, do you really need to pay $30 for a pair of shoes that your child will outgrow in 6 months? I would ask your pediatrician. I would think that any NEW leather walking shoe would be fine.
Reply:I%26#039;m with the Stride Rite crowd! My son also had wide feet as a baby, and a lot of other toddler brands have a one-size-fits-all shoe, which can%26#039;t be comfortable for a little one with a bigger foot.





I agree that they are expensive and rarely go on sale, it seems, but there are a few outlets not so far away for Stride Rite - if those are available, give that a try.
