Correlation between shoe size and weight of baby?

I heard (from a midwife) that a woman%26#039;s shoe size correlates with the weight of a baby she can have with no problem (or c-section) like a size 8 shoe can have a 8, 9, maybe 10lb baby with no problem (like tearing or having to be cut) Anyone else heard this or had any experience with this?

Correlation between shoe size and weight of baby?
I think that sounds silly. It%26#039;s all about how big or flexible your pelvis is. While ther might be a correlation between hip size and shoe size generally, it really has more to do with your general body type.
Reply:i can tell you right now that%26#039;s bull because when I first got pregnant I wore a size 8 , my daughter weighed 8 lbs and I had to be cut. My second daughter was born and by then I was a size 9 and she weighed almost 9 lbs and i tore wide open with her. So it%26#039;s a crock.
Reply:Never heard of this, but to put my two cents in, my feet are a size 7, and my daughter was 7 lb 13 oz and I had 2nd degree tearing. I even had tearing inside the birth canal.
Reply:I doubt it. But also, a lot of big women have big feet. Bigger women could mean a bigger baby, but not always.
Reply:I wear a size 5. I had two babies that were 8 lbs 3 oz and 8 pounds 11 oz with a slight tear on both. I wish my babies had been 5 pounds!! Okay maybe not, they seem so fragile at that size. My babies came out two weeks old!!!
Reply:Never heard that but I am (usually) a size 7 or 7 1/2 and my daughter was 7 pounds 12 ounces HOWEVER I did have to be cut significantly but I think it was only because my daughter was sunny side up.
Reply:Never heard that. My shoe size is 8 1/2 and my babies were 8 lbs 5 oz and 6lbs 10 oz. Both tore me up.
