Should babies wear hard sole shoes?

Just had a new born and we got some tennis shoe from the baby shower is it ok for her to wear them once in a blue moon? If not why?

Should babies wear hard sole shoes?
Shoes protect a baby%26#039;s feet from sharp objects on the ground and from the cold. Otherwise, they%26#039;re better to be barefoot. And certainly, when they do wear shoes, soft soled are the best.

Unfortunately, shoe fashion dictates a lot of things not good for either babies or adults ... (stilletos for instance). And I can%26#039;t imagine hard sole shoes would be comfortable for a newborn or a baby below walking age.

A baby%26#039;s foot size changes every 4 to 6 weeks, so the tennis shoes would have a limited life-span anyway.

Use them once or twice (can%26#039;t hurt) and then pass them on.

The flat feet thing is an old wife%26#039;s tale,
Reply:no they shouldn%26#039;t bcoz it will hurt him/her
Reply:once in a blue moon is okay but not too often...cuz your baby is always growing and you want them to grow naturally and not in the shape of a shoe....there will be plenty of time for her to wear shoes....trust me girls love shoes!!!
Reply:NO, My baby is 10 months and his pediatrician said soft sole shoes for him.
Reply:It%26#039;s not a big deal for her to wear shoes so she can go out with you and look cute.

Because babies grow so quickly, and they can%26#039;t really tell you if the shoe fits properly, there is a good chance that wearing shoes regularly can damage their feet.

Wearing shoes can also make it harder for a baby to learn to crawl or walk.

It is recomended that babies do not wear shoes daily until they are over one year old. There is no harm in having your baby wear shoes every once in a while though.
Reply:no,

it can callus their feet, or cause them to have flat feet.
Reply:every once in a while..
Reply:Wearing them once in a while is okay. But for the most part, you want those little tootsies free too wiggle. The reason is that babies need to wiggle those toes and work those muscles so that they have strong feet when they are ready for walking. There are tons of cute %26quot;soft%26quot; shoes out there if you just really like the look of shoes on the baby.
Reply:No not until they are walking. Then you want a should with a good solid heel support that isn%26#039;t going to let their foot slide around. My daughter had a bow to her legs and that was what i was told, and now she is 21/4 and her legs are straight.
Reply:no, does tennis shoes size for new born child exist lol
