How do I keep my kitten out of the boyfriend's shoes?

Now, hence his name, %26quot;Shoes%26quot;, why does my little baby boy keep sticking his nose in sweaty shoes?

How do I keep my kitten out of the boyfriend%26#039;s shoes?
To answer WHY is your kitty so interested in the shoes I have to ask are they leather shoes or part leather? I have found that cats are usually interested in shoes with leather that have been treated with some type of leather oil that they find appealing. I think the heat and sweat stirs up a little of the scent from the oil. Some leather oils have a fish base, which of course cats find appealing. We cannot smell it, but they sure can. I have seen cats go crazy with shoes, and there was even a briefcase that my cats would ravage, rolling and clawing on it. We thought that they had gone looney, but after smelling the leather closely we could faintly detect what they liked. That briefcase had to be safely guarded like you will have to with the shoes. Put them in a closet or somewhere that the kitty cannot find them.

Good luck!
Reply:bless i bet hes relly cute:

1.keep all show out of reach i.e buy a shoe rack.

2.blow in his face (GENTELY THOUGH)and tell him no at the same time cats hate that but they wont do it again.

my cat used to do the same thing. hope this helps. :]
Reply:at least he is not using them as a potty place
Reply:its simple really, hid your boy friends shoes (make sure you tell him where they are)
Reply:put rolled up newspaper in them or put them in a drawer.
Reply:Well when I had a cat if it did something it wasn%26#039;t supposed to do i would spray it with a squirt bottle. But you can%26#039;t always be there so try sprinkling some red pepper powder or anything spicy on the shoes. It worked for my cat. Just make sure you don%26#039;t put something to strong that will hurt the cat. But it has to be just strong enough for the cat to realize that he shouldn%26#039;t be chewing that.
Reply:My kitten loved to hide in shoes and we could never get him out and it is just to much work to keep moving them, my kitten, he never did any harm to them through so it didn%26#039;t really matter but when i got him a little pryamid bed thing he went there happy as anything, i think he just like hiding so don%26#039;t worry, you can always try to make his bed more atractive for him but at the end of the day no harm no foul, besides after a while i am sure he will get bored with them but may take a while
Reply:mine does that too! lol its sooooo sweet!!! =D

u could put them in a cupboard or closet or seperate room?? i wouldnt bother sprayin them but if u want u could!
Reply:i dont know but my cat does that sometimes also. what i do is take the shoes and put them in my closet. maybe he just wants to find a place to hide or something.
Reply:he must love the smell of ur boyfriends feet just make sure that he looks before he puts his shoes back on
Reply:Animals are really unique about what they like to smell. the best way to keep him away from the shoes is to put the shoes in a shoe rack. If he isn%26#039;t hurting the shoes, why not let him smell them? What%26#039;s a little shoe sniffing among friends?
Reply:my cat sniffs shoes, whether he likes the smell or not, he will fall asleep with his head in them. i think its a normal thing.
