Why is it that some cultures don't put shoes on their babies feet???

i was just at the mall and seen some Asian/Caucasian families who had children and the children/child did not have on shoes, just socks. The weather is around 50 something degrees and I don%26#039;t understand the rational behind it, do you???

Why is it that some cultures don%26#039;t put shoes on their babies feet???
i don%26#039;t put shoes on my 8 month old. i think it is a waste and it isn%26#039;t good for their feet anyhow. even once they are walking only soft sole shoes or bare feet are reccomended.
Reply:Because babies dont walk and dont need shoes - socks would keep thier feet plenty warm enough while they are being carried from the parking lot to the mall and back, 50 something isnt really cold at all.
Reply:Where are you from that the weather is so cold May 31?

I did not put shoes on any of my babies until they were walking. They wore socks when it was moderate weather (60-70) and booties in cool weather (59 and below) I did not have my baby out in the weather long, just a walk from the door to the car, and usually caked over in blankets. Why not buy shoes for my baby? First, they aren%26#039;t walking, so the danger of stepping on glass and rocks was not there. Second, putting shoes on your baby before they walk has been established for centuries that it deforms the child%26#039;s feet against their natural shape because counter pressure is not on them. Poor feet shape is a major factor in poor posture and walking posture, which leads to knee, back and neck problems later in life.
